A Guide to the Different Types of Vapes

Have you ever visited a vape shop and explored the range of vape devices? Whether it is an online or offline store, you will run into a head-spinning level of variety among the different types of vapes on the market today. That is a good thing, though. After all, it ensures you find something you like regardless of your preferences. If you want an iced mint vape, you will get it.

That said, there is a downside you should be aware of – deciding on the type of vape you should use. This will not be easy, especially if you have never vaped before and are clueless about your needs.

So, go through this write-up to learn the basics of all the different types of vapes you can buy today.

  1. Disposable Vapes

Disposable vapes are pre-charged, prefilled devices ready to be used immediately after removal from the package. Disposable products are not designed for refilling, except for a few variants. If you buy a traditional disposable product, you need to replace the entire device after you run out of e-liquid.

2.            2.  Prefilled Pod Vapes

A prefilled pod vape is a device that stores e-liquid in a removable pod made of plastic. You install it by pushing the pod into a chamber atop the device. When the pod is empty, you throw it away and replace it with a new one.

3.         3. Refillable Pod Vapes

Unlike a disposable iced mint vape, a refillable pod vape works like a prefilled pod vape – the e-liquid is stored in a removable plastic pod. When you buy a refillable device, you have to fill the pods using bottled vape juice. After using it for a while, the pod may no longer provide acceptable flavor quality. That is when you must replace it.

4.          4Cig-a-likes

Cig-a-likes are the only types of vapes that look like tobacco cigarettes. You may find them at supermarkets and convenience stores. A cig-a-like stores e-liquid in a filter-shaped cartridge that lasts twenty-four hours. Throw the cartridge away when it runs out of e-liquid and replace it with a new one.

5.            5. Vape Pens

These are cylindrical vaping devices resembling a pen or a small cigar in appearance. They store e-liquid in a twist-on or inbuilt tank instead of a push-in pod. Additionally, pod vapes use plastic pods, whereas the tank of a vape pen is of glass.

6.        6. Vape Mods

These are the biggest, most complicated, and most powerful vaping devices on the market. They come with high-capacity battery cells and can operate at extremely high wattages. A vape mod looks like a box and stores its e-liquid in a large glass tank.

7.         7. Pod Mods

A pod mod is a more powerful version of a refillable pod vape. Just like conventional pod vapes, pod mods store their e-liquid in plastic pods and not in glass tanks. Pod mods are larger than traditional pod systems and operate at higher power levels. These devices feature a unique blend of functionalities, essentially combining the best of vape mods and traditional pod vapes.

Herbal Vapes

When you use an iced mint vape, you usually inhale e-liquid laced with nicotine. However, providing ex-smokers with an appropriate nicotine replacement is not always what vape brands do. Sometimes, they add herbal extracts to the e-liquid, such as hemp-derived CBD, THC, or THCA.
